   This mf bitchin. After you get the hang of things thru trial and error with leveling and first prints it upholds everything it says to be, I ran out of filament to print a mask but not only was it a smooth transition not once but all 7 filament changes also I accidentally knocked the cord on the wall causing a power surge, the machine picked up where it left off after reboot and confirmation. This machine is good for beginners who want to print big things I’ve had this running over a week for one print alone.

   I'll start by saying that I have 9 different 3d printers that are in operation right now and have owned ~30 or so in the past, and have owned a wide variety of Creality 3d printers with pretty extensive experience from scratch on these 3d printers.
   
   in the past ~2 years, creality has made some HUGE strides in terms of making their printers much more user friendly, and shedding that stigma of "cheap printer" and "you get what you paid for".. these latest batches of printers really pack in all the important upgrades that a reasonable user would want to have within a few months of owning the printer, from the all metal hotend, to the direct drive, auto leveling, to the magnetic flex steel sheet.
   
   creality has also made some really impressive assembly changes to the printers so that it's pretty much a handful of bolts, and you're off and running.
   
   saving said all that, there are a few caveats that holds this back from a true 5 star product:
   
   1. the creality stock firmware is still lacking in some basic features, like easy to access e-step input, all-in-one function for changing filament midprint, and probably most importantly, the locked out M600 command for mid-print color change that is so useful and popular with Prusaslicer. given the latest batch of touch screen control, it's also becoming more difficult to flash these printers with aftermarket firmware like TH3D.
   
   2. the new black powder coated flex steel surface is a bit of a bust for me. it was shipped with the Neos, and the S1 Plus. these are actually TOO sticky, and are just annoying to try to remove. The gold colored PEI sheet that's included with the S1 Pro is a much better surface, and really should have been included in the first place.
   
   overall, if i could give partial credit, this would be getting a 4.5 star, but without the ability to give half, i think it's more deserving of a 5, than a 4 star.

   For starters, I am a huge fan of the Ender line of printers. My very first printer was an Ender 3 pro and I have since created an entire aftermarket line of parts and upgraded absolutely everything possible and uploaded it all to thingiverse. When the S1 printers came out, I got a pro and now the plus. I upgraded my plus to use the hot end from the pro by buying the metal sprite and then the copper hot end. This printer was great right out of the box. I did the mods slowly over time but it was printing straight from the start and never skipped a beat. I have used this for PLA, ABS, Nylon and ASA. This is a great first printer or for something to add to a print farm.
